Flavour Profile: Butter, Milk, Almond
Jin Xuan is a Taiwanese tea cultivar developed in the 1980s and often referred to as “Milk Oolong.” The name comes from the naturally creamy texture and soft, milky aroma that the leaves can produce when grown and processed well. Unlike flavored teas, this character comes directly from the tea itself.
When brewed, the liquor is clear and bright green, with a fresh fragrance that is both floral and lightly creamy. As the tightly rolled leaves open in hot water, they release a mellow aroma and a smooth, balanced flavor.
The tea is naturally sweet with a gentle body and only a light touch of astringency. Its most distinctive feature is the soft, buttery note that sits alongside fresh floral tones. The finish is clean and lingering, leaving a light sweetness on the palate.
Brewing Guide
Best prepared with short infusions to highlight floral aroma, sweetness, and clarity.
