Weight: 150g
Flavour: Cedar, Floral, Light Honey
This oolong tea comes from the Shanlinxi mountain region of Nantou, Taiwan, specifically the Yangwan tea area at elevations of around 1400–1600 meters. The tea gardens here are often surrounded by cedar forests and covered in mist for much of the year. The cool climate and fertile soil allow the tea leaves to grow slowly, developing a thicker leaf and deeper aroma.
When brewed, the tea produces a clear golden-green liquor with a gentle, elegant fragrance. The flavor is smooth and refreshing, combining soft floral notes with a light natural sweetness. The texture is mellow and slightly silky, with very little bitterness.
In contrast with our roasted oolong products from the same region this variety produces a more gentle yet full bodied flavour that people often find more refreshing. One of the distinctive characteristics of teas from this region is the subtle aroma sometimes described as a cedar-like fragrance, the finish is clean and lingering, leaving a soft sweetness that develops as the tea cools.
Brewing Guide
Best prepared with short infusions to highlight floral aroma, sweetness, and clarity.
Start slightly cooler for a softer, more floral cup. Increase temperature gradually if you want more body and sweetness.
